The name “Boca do Inferno” attributed to this place is due to the morphological analogy and the tremendous and frightening impact of the waves there, the characteristic that makes up the rock on the cliff is carbonated nature. The erosion exerted by the action of rainwater which, containing dissolved carbon dioxide, causes carbonate to dissolve. Through this process, cavities and cavities are formed within the limestones; with the fall of the upper layers, the cave was destroyed, leaving a large open-air cavity.
