Around this ancient square are the ruins of the Temple of Julius Caesar, on the site of his cremation, the Arch of Titus, House of the Vestal Virgins, the Senate House, the Basilica of Maxentius, and much more. The ruins demonstrate the political, religious and social significance of the Forum in ancient times.
