    2. After you walk through Palatine Hill, explore the site of an older settlement from the 9th century BC.

      Admire the incredible frescoes in the House of Augustus and the Hippodrome, an elliptical sunken garden from the Palace of Domitian. Here, enjoy an impressive view of the Circus Maximus and the valley of the Roman Forum. Learn about the legend of Romulus and Remus, the abandoned brothers raised by a wolf who fought each other for power and control.

In the vast precinct that held the baths, the citizens could not only use the public baths but also dedicate their time to doing exercise, visiting the library, walking through the gardens or worshipping the god Mithras and other pagan divinities by visiting the temple. The baths make up an architectural wonder when you keep in mind the date of their construction since they included effective water supply systems, as well as heating and drainage systems. Covered with marble and decorated with valued works of art, the Baths of Caracalla were the most sumptuous baths to be built in ancient times.

    6. Circus Maximus is the largest building for public entertainment in antiquity and one of the largest of all time (600 metres long by 140 metres wide).

      The races held in the Circus were the most popular competitive activities for the Roman people, as well as the gladiatorial games. The chariot drivers soon became idolized by the Roman people, and since the chariots belonged to different racing teams distinguished by different colours (green, blue, red, white), the spectators too were divided upon the circus steps according to the colour of their beloved riders. Damaged several times by fire, the Circus Maximus was almost completely rebuilt under the Principate of Trajan, and most of the structures visible today were built during its reign. Numerous works were carried out by later emperors, including the spectacular erection of the gigantic obelisk, now in the Lateran Hill, brought to Rome by Constant II in 357 AD.

    • You must have a valid photo ID to enter the monuments (student's ID, Driver License, Passport or State ID all work.) You will be asked to also provide your name, last name and date of birth (at the beginning of the tour, if not provided beforehand.) Security may prevent you from entering the site if the information provided is not accurate and/or don't match the one on your ID.
    • Child discount is applied only with a valid ID card
    • Note: tour will not operate on religious holidays

    • Estimated time entrance to the Vatican Museum is 45 minutes after tour departure, because you will have to pass the security check.
