   This bridge links the Quai Branly (in the 7th arrondissement, on the left bank) to the Avenue de New York (in the 8th and 16th arrondissements, on the right bank)1.     This small 11.5-metre statue was donated by the Americans in 1889, three years after France gave them the Statue of Liberty. Once again, this monument celebrates a very special event, this time commemorating 100 years since the French Revolution. This landmark event in French history is marked alongside 4 July 1776, the date of American Independence, on the plaque held in the statue's left hand.
