   This walking tour commemorates the 80th anniversary of one of the most famous days in history – D-Day, 6th June 1944 – when Allied forces landed in Normandy by sea and air to begin the liberation of occupied Europe and one of the final chapters of the Second World War. Long description Start your tour with a fascinating walk led by our experienced Guide through the Westminster area to see where Churchill lived as a child before leaving for boarding school (green plaque); where he married Clementine; the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben plus many more sights and statues of this great leader. The finale of this historical journey will be stepping back to the 1940’s with a Private Behind the Glass Tour of Churchill’s War Rooms – let your Expert Guide take you on a journey of discovery in this underground bunker that allowed Britain’s Prime Minister and his government ministers to lead us to victory during the Second World War.
