The High Line is a 1.45-mile-long elevated park, greenway built on a historic, elevated freight line. The High Line is a public park programmed, maintained, and operated by Friends of the High Line, in partnership with the New York City Department of Parks & Recreation. Washington Grasslands & Woodland Edge section is full of grasses, perennials, and woody species that tolerate the shade of the surrounding buildings. The Vessel “New York’s Staircase,” 154 interconnecting flights of stairs, 2,500 individual steps and 80 landings. Built bronzed steel located in the center of Hudson Yards.
