Whether you prefer a quick bite or a leisurely meal, we can recommend or reserve a spot at one of the best local eateries for you. 1:40 PM: Departure from Amboise, heading towards Château de Chaumont-sur-Loire. The scenic drive along the Loire River takes approximately 20 minutes, offering lovely views of the surrounding countryside.

   2:00 PM: Arrival at Château de Chaumont-sur-Loire, a historic gem dating back to the 10th century and reconstructed in the 15th century by Charles I d'Amboise. This remarkable château, protected as a monument historique since 1840, is now open to the public. Notably, in 1559, Catherine de Medici forced Diane de Poitiers to exchange Château de Chenonceau for Chaumont, where Diane spent the last three years of her life. Take time to explore the castle’s stunning architecture and its enchanting grounds.

This magnificent château, once a royal residence, is steeped in history. Joan of Arc visited the castle in 1429 to receive a blessing from the Archbishop of Reims before leading her army into battle against the English. The château features four distinct architectural styles and boasts an impressive 564 rooms, 100 of which are bedrooms with fireplaces, along with 75 staircases. Explore its rich history and stunning design during your visit. 5:30 PM: Departure from Blois, heading back to Paris. The drive, approximately 180 km on the highway, includes a planned stop at a rest area for your comfort.
